Launch IE with options from desktop link

Windows 8 has two versions of Internet Explorer an app that can be launched from the Start screen and a full version of Internet Explorer is available in the desktop view. To launch the full version from the Start maybe especially useful for those on a desktop PC.

STEP:1

First from the Start screen click onto the Desktop tile, then click the Internet Explorer icon.

STEP:2

In the top right cornfer of the screen click the settings icon, which looks like a cog.

click Internet Options

STEP:4

In the box that opens click the Programs tab

 

STEP:5

In the pening Internet Explorer section, click the drop down to choose "how you open links"

STEP:6

Select "Always in Internet Explorer on the desktop"

 

STEP:7

Click Apply and Ok

STEP:8

Next time you click on the Internet Explorer tile on the Start screen it will automatically open the desktop version of Internet Explorer.
