Description:
Apparently, for some users, there are a lot of problem with the Belkin Network USB Hub in Windows 8.1 and Windows 8. We go through the problems and try to offer a working fix.The fact that released Windows 8.1 has affected a lot of users who had to update their drivers and, in many situations, they have been experiencing annoying issues. We’ve previously reported USB 3.0 issues, as well as problems with external hard drives. This time, some users are complaining that their Network USB Hub from Belkin doesn’t work with Windows 8.1 or has other problems.
Solution:
Go to Windows’ Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), and there you should see that the SXUPTP driver is showing as disabled. SXUPTP is a driver from a company called Silex that makes network USB hubs for Belkin. Here are the steps to follow:
- Close the Belkin network hub’s tray application.
- Download the latest version of SX Virtual Link (sx-virtual_link_win_3120.zip).
- Extract all of the files.
- In Windows Explorer, navigate to sx-virtual_link_win_3120\s-33a3120\Files\Bin\Sxcsapi\WinVistaX64 if you are running a 64 bit OS, or sx-virtual_link_win_3120\s-33a3120\Files\Bin\Sxcsapi\WinVista if you are running a 32 bit OS.
- Right-click on “Sxuptp.inf” and select “Install” from the menu
